Dufferin Terrace Cast Iron Balustrade Project

A few years ago, Parks Canada used our Rust-Anode Primer to restore the century-old cast iron balustrade of the Dufferin Terrace next to the iconic Château Frontenac.

Built in 1838, expanded in 1854 and 1879, with a length of 360m, it consists of a long wooden promenade above Cap Diamant in the historic district of Old Quebec, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, the South Shore and Île d’Orléans.

From the Lévis Terrace, you can see its entire length.

Our coating was covered with green paint to keep the unique visual.

Tourists from around the world will be able to enjoy the view and unique architecture of this historic site for decades to come.

This project demonstrates Galvatech’s expertise in protecting heritage for future generations!

Discover the Rust-Anode® Technology

The Rust-Anode® technology allows for on-site zinc recharging of new or used structures damaged by rust or corrosion and offers the same performance as hot-dip galvanization.
